Informational Sessions

Believe Midwifery Services, LLC offers a number of talks in effort to educate the community about other options for healthcare than conventional medicine. While there certainly are necessary attributes in this model, much of our healthcare needs are not well served with this approach. Dr. Lane is dedicated to teaching the community about complementary and alternative approaches to chronic disease management, anxiety and depression, menopause, infertility, allergies, chronic pain, thyroid disease and pregnancy.

If you are interested in hosting any one of her talks, please call our office at 317-434-2229 and Kristin would be happy to set up a convenient time. Each talk is free, offered both within our office and within the community, and are open to anyone with interest.

Homebirth Informational Sessions

Join Dr. Lane as she shares her love for midwifery and how our midwifery team can best serve your healthcare needs!

Our one-hour group informational session is offered each week as an opportunity for potential clients to meet with Dr. Lane and learn about our maternity program. We will offer a peek at what membership entails and discuss if you might be a good client for our practice.

Informational sessions are group sessions and therefore, in effort for everyone to hear the discussion and have opportunity to ask questions, it can prove helpful to find alternative childcare for active children. Our practice is busy, and discerning. Dr. Lane can not accept everyone. We desire a mutually enjoyable birth experience and hope these information sessions will help each of us determine if our practice would be a good fit for your needs.

Healing Your Thyroid

This talk will discuss the primary goal of thyroid treatment from a functional medicine viewpoint. Dr. Lane’s mission is to dig into why the thyroid stops working optimally, and then discern how best to promote healing. Why does the body sometimes attack the thyroid, and what can be done about it? Can the thyroid be healed before other issues present? Why do physicians only recommend pharmaceuticals? What alternative options are available?

Dr. Lane will share how we approach care of the thyroid, and how we work towards healing. Root causes will be explored, as well as treatment regimens. Functional medicine seeks to heal the roots, not just treat the symptoms and we have a program of care specifically for this purpose.
