Unsweetened cranberry juice – real cranberry juice – is excellent for urinary bladder infections. Women are typically familiar with this, but unfortunately many are purchasing the sweetened juices from the market that are often supplemented with apple juice and other sugars so that only 20% of cranberry juice remains. Pure cranberry juice may only be found in natural food stores.
The understanding is that the pH in cranberry juice works to make an unsuitable environment for the bacteria, although the sugary blends would further feed the bacteria. Therefore, if 100% cranberry juice can not be found when in need, simply increase your intake of water and flush out the offending bacteria.
